Nest 14 was located by Pebbles north of POA 04. The turtle started a hole but wasn't happy with it and move to another spot to nest with 136 eggs. The nest was in a low-lying area so 135 eggs (1 taken for DNA research) were relocated to higher ground with a sloping dune a little more to the north of POA 04.

Nest 20 found by Stacey and Pebbles in just north of POA 02. The nest was on the was relocated to north of POA 01B on a sloping dune. We only found 14 eggs, one egg casing on top and one egg that a crab had broken (pinched a hole). We speculate that crabs were bothering her when she was nesting since the hole wasn't completing covered and had a depression. Thank you to Linnea for bringing supplies.

Nest 21 was found in Zone 1A, just south of POA 01B. Karen helped approximate where the nest chamber might be based on the end of the incoming crawl, and after a minute of probing the nest was located. 77 Eggs were removed intact, and all but 1 (which was taken for research) were relocated to the north end of POA 01B, just above the new dune fencing. Nest 38 was located by Pebbles, north of POA 1B in a low lying area. 119 eggs were relocated to a seaward side of a dune north of POA 1B. Pebbles did some great detective work as the wind blew some of the clues. She didn't probe, but just hand dug into the suspected area and found the eggs just inches below the surface of the sand. Wendy Monroe brought supplies and Cathy assisted Pebbles helping put the eggs in the hole while Barney supervised.

A broken egg was preserved for DNA analysis, and the remaining 132 relocated. Lauren had a busy morning supplying 4 nests, and we appreciated her bringing supplies.

Nest 71 from Ellen Faw. Wild nest from May 15 is now actual nest 71, with a hatch about 10' from the question mark (?) stake. Just north of POA 22. Actual nest staked and protected.

Nest 73 was located on the sandbar at POA 02s by Stacey. Linnea helped relocate 108 eggs (109, less 1 taken for research) to a seaward dune at POA 03n. Thanks to Wendy for finding the perfect location and digging the new nest and Monette for bringing supplies.

Nest 75 at POA 24s. Karen located the nest with 82 eggs. 81 eggs were relocated directly back to a seaward side of a dune at POA 24s. 10 yr. old Eva counted eggs and observed and was thrilled to see what we do out on the beach and was happy she woke up early today. Thanks to Penny for bringing supplies.

Nest 77 Ellen F. located the nest chamber at POA 01B. Of the 116 eggs oviposited, 9 had been predated by ghost crabs and 107 were relocated to POA 01B. The nest was very shallow, only a few inches down. Thanks to Penne for bringing down the supplies and helping Wendy relocate the nest. We had a family with us and our little helper Collins.

Nest 78 found by Ellen just south of POA 24. Ellen easily found the egg chamber and nest was relocated to higher ground. 116 eggs in chamber. Ellen and Jen relocated 115 eggs, one found broken at the bottom of the nest was taken for DNA research.
