"When I Dream !"

Last Update -
When we dream,   we dream of a world where humans no longer heartlessly destroy the beauty that Nature creates.
Please, Help us make our dream a reality.

Found an orphaned or injured wild animal??
Then immediately contact the nearest Rehabilitator, Vet, or Dept. of Natural Resources for help.... Do Not Delay.... The longer you wait, the less chance the baby has of surviving... If you've never successfully raised wildlife before, DON'T try to care for babies, without help.

Here are just a few special moments from the nearly 200 birds we've taken in this season.
What's This? A wind up toy outta your Value Meal. -  Wind up toy is the first thing that comes to mind when watching this little guy at feeding time.  He runs around in circles and waves his little arm, also known as wings.

Am I getting Bigger yet?-  Growing like a weed, this little Common Moorhen nearly doubles in size in little over a week.  A real treat, he's one of the most unusual birds we've seen.

What ya Got?  Somethin to Eat???-  Unbelievable appetite and changing very rapidly as his feathers begin to come in.  All those bright colors begin to fade as the feathers cover them.

What do you mean,0 Dig Worms?? -   With his first visits to the outside world, he has now lost all his bright coloring and has taken on the normal appearance of a juvenile moorhen.  Only weeks away from release, his beak and face will regain the bright red coloring as he matures into an adult.

Our Barber Shop Quartet -   When this group gets fired up for feeding time, every 15 minutes, music is not the first thing that comes to mind.  These tiny babies with the huge mouths are Carolina Wrens.  Baby diapers and a cereal bowl make a functional nest.

This is Not my better side. -   Peli, is a juvenile Brown Pelican that has a broken wing.  Unfortunately, the break had healed improperly before he came to us and there is nothing we can do to fix it.  He will never fly so, for now he remains with us as our yard Guard Pelican.  And he does a good job of it too...

I'll be doing a forward 2 and a half with twist....-  She came to us unable to walk and nearly dead.  Her feet and legs were in bad shape and she still has a problem with her left leg.  Though it will never be right, she will be able to survive in the wild.
